Electric supply and high voltage engineering professor’s team

The first enrollment at Electricity department  enrollment was in 1960 and the first students graduated from in 1965. The school has been preparing human resource in following fields including Electrical System, Electrical Supply, Energy  System Automization, Electronics, Computer and Medical Equipment Engineering continuously in all time.
In 1962 Engineering Department was established under the name of NUM, consisting of Construction, Architecture Department and Energetic Department and divided into Construction Engineering and Polytechnic Department (dean G.Rentsendorj).
In 1963-1964, the Energetic Department had been expanded its operation and the Electricity Energetic Department, Thermo Energetic Department and Mechanical Department were established.
In October, 1969, the department divided into two as "Theory of Electrical Technique Department” and "Engineering Electricity Energetic Department”. In 1966-1970, new labs of electrical circuit theory, electrical machine and relay protection considered as the best at that time were set in the school in the contribution of UNESCO.
In 1985-1989, the department changed to "Electrical Supply” Department and Z.Tserendorj worked as a head of the department, since 1989, Kh.Sukhbaatar was selected as a  head of the department.
Since 2002, School of Power Engineering has been shipted the professor’s team system, and "Electric Energy Transmission and Distribution” opened and Kh.Tsagaan was selected as a head of professor’s team, since 2005,  B.Sergelen worked as a head of professor’s team.

Since 2002, "High voltage Technique and Clean Energy” professor’s team was opened and Z.Tserendorj worked as a head of professor’s team, then after joining of some professor’s teams, since 2007 "Electric Energy Transmission and Distribution” and "High Technique and Clean Energy” teams were unified and entitled as "Electric Supply and High voltage engineering” team. Ph.D B.Sergelen was selected as a head of the professor’s team. 60% employee of this team are Ph.D.

High voltage Lab in 1968, Electrical Materials  Lab in 1972 were setup  since 1990 "High Voltage testing and Calibration” lab was added. Since 1996, here was begining to estableshment of ”Renewable Energy laboratory” at the MUST by the support and donation of Miyakonojo National college of Technology Japan, Singapore Polytech and Inner Mongolia Industry University (China). Today we are conducting the research and tests on solar and wind generators and their auxilary electrical equipment.

In 2005 the High voltage and Renewable Energy Research and Testing Center was established under the supervision of Prof. Z.Tserendorj and its main activities are:

· Testing and diagnosis of High Voltage facilities

· Research on reliable operation of insulation of High Voltage Transmission Lines

· Usage of High voltage electrical field for Technology purposes

· Solar  radiation measurements (hourly, dialy and monthly) and calculation

· Continines measurement of wind speed in dependence of elevation heights above ground level

· Measurement of output power and I-V characteristics of solar panels in relation with solar radiation

· Measurement of output power and rotation speed of wind generator in relation with wind speed

· Twisting the windings of small wind generators and its testing

· Testing the small sized wind and solar hybrid generations

· Testing inverters and accumulators suited for wind and solar generators

· Testing the performance of solar panels created with different semiconductor materials

By the initiative of Ph.D.  B.Sergelen, in 2003-2006 Laboratory on Automatic Control of Electrical Motors, 2007-2009 "Electrical Machine and Drives” lab, in 2009 "Electrical Supply” lab set up and supported by the Grant aid of the Czech Republic. Totally three new labs opened and the school has been expanding its operation as academic center in contemporary Europe standard technique, technology new era. Also in 2006 "Theory of electric techique ” lab was opened with 4 complete experimental equipments.
